Republican senator casts Trump as election loser destined to lose 2024 nomination

An ex-Republican senator called Donald Trump an election loser and said that he is unlikely to win the GOP's nomination for president in 2024, if he chooses to run.
Senator Bill Cassidy was one of seven Republicans who voted in favor of Trump's conviction in connection with the Capitol riot. He responded by dismissing Mike Allen, Axios cofounder, who suggested that Trump would have a winning ticket if he ran again.

Louisiana Republican said that Trump might lose the GOP nomination race, despite his high poll numbers among Republicans looking ahead to 2024.
