According to the Calaveras County Sheriff's Office, a California man was shot and killed by the former owners of his father's home.
Authorities said that Lennin Elizalde (28 years old) broke into Valley Springs' home twice earlier in the month.
According to the new owners, Elizalde kicked their front doors before attacking them.

According to the sheriff's offices, authorities identified the man as Lennin Elizalde (28-year-old), the son of the former owner.
According to authorities, the new owners purchased Valley Springs property via a real estate firm. According to the news release, Elizalde broke into their home through the sidedoor and was discovered by the new owners upon moving in on October 9.
According to law enforcement, Elizalde refused leave the property until new owners called 911. He claimed he threatened two people but fled the scene before detectives arrived.
Deputies later found Elizalde and arrested him for illegal entry, vandalism and possession methamphetamine. Lenin told the deputy while he was being transported to jail that he believed the residence was still his property, and that he wanted to return to it.
A deputy asked for an increase in Elizalde's bail due to his threats while he was being held. According to the news release, a judge denied Elizalde's request due to the nature and severity of his misdemeanor accusations.
He was released from prison and returned to the home shortly after 12:01 a.m., October 10. According to the Mercury News, the new owners claimed that Elizalde entered the house by punching through the front door. He then attacked a male occupant sleeping in the living area.

Authorities claim that Elizalde was shot by the other owner, who is identified as another male. Authorities said that the intruder died on the spot. Elizalde's murder has not been solved.
Calaveras County Sheriff's Office stated that it is investigating the incident.
According to the sheriff's office, the two residents were taken by ambulance to hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.
