The 20-game losing streak of the Jacksonville Jaguars is over.

The Jaguars ended their longest NFL skid with a 23-20 win over the Miami Dolphins at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, London. The team won for the first time in 399 days since beating the Indianapolis Colts in 2020's season opener.

Matthew Wright's 53 yard field goal was the Jaguars' winning score. It was set up by a clever play on fourth-and-8. Although the Jaguars appeared to be planning to throw a Hail Mary, quarterback Trevor Lawrence completed a quick 9 yard pass to Laviska Schenault. A quick timeout allowed Wright to score his third field goal.

Wright scored all three field goals Sunday, despite the fact that the Jaguars had not made a field goal for five weeks. In their eight London games, the Jaguars have successfully made 15 field goals.

Lawrence threw 319 yards and one touchdown. Marvin Jones caught seven passes, totaling 100 yards, and Josh Allen, defensive end, made a crucial stop on a fourth and-1 run, which gave the Jaguars the ball at the Miami 46 yard line.

Lawrence is the first rookie quarterback in London to win a game. Prior to Sunday, rookie quarterbacks were 0-5 in London. Lawrence's 319 passing yards is also the highest by a rookie quarterback living in London. This surpasses the 309 mark set by former Jaguar Gardner Minshew.

The 2020 season opener was won by the Jaguars, but they lost the next 15 games to end the season. This ensured that they would be drafted with the number one pick. They used Lawrence as their first pick. This streak of 20 consecutive losses was second only to the 26-game losing streak by the 1976-1977 Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

However, the Buccaneers were an expansion team in 1976.
