FA Cup first-round draw: Eighth-tier AFC Sudbury to host League Two Colchester United

Last update on. From the section FA Cup
Wembley hosted the first round draw

Eighth-tier AFC Sudbury (the lowest-ranked side in the FA Cup) was drawn with Colchester.

The League Two U's will try to avoid another season like last year when they were eliminated by Marine, an eighth-tier side.

Marine will face a replay against National League Wrexham in order to reach the first round of this season. If they advance, they will travel to League Two Harrogate.

League One Lincoln's seventh-tier Bowers & Pitsea hosts League One Lincoln in one the 40 ties.

Sudbury and Marine are two of the four remaining eighth-tier sides in the competition, but Marske United Collieries and Pontefract Collieries will also be replayed to reach the first round.

Another match-up takes place between League One and a seventh tier club. 2008 winners Portsmouth host Harrow Borough. Wigan Athletic, who won the FA Cup in 2013, hosts National League Solihull Moors.

Aside from that, seventh-tier sides Horsham & Banbury will be facing League Two opposition as Banbury travels to Carlisle while Banbury hosts Barrow.

All games must be played between 5 November and 8 Nov.
