Explanation: This creative visual presentation only uses the natural colors of Earth's Moon. The lunar disks were photographed as pixels within a frame image. The reflected sunlight and alignment geometry of Moon and Earth are the main factors in their varying hues. The colors of earthshine are found in the darkest lunar discs. Leonardo da Vinci wrote a description of earthshine over 500 years ago. It is the effect of sunlight reflecting off the Moon's surface by Earth's oceans. Stand further away from the monitor, or shift your focus to the smaller images. It is possible that you will also be able to see one of da Vinci’s most famous works.
