Our First Look at DC's Naomi Is Ripped Right From the Comics

Although Naomi McDuffies has only been kicking about in DCs comics for a while, the young heroines are already making the transition to the small screen with the CW's upcoming Naomi series. It will debut this fall. This year's DC Fandome features a new clip by Naomi that introduces Kaci Walfall, the show's titular heroine. It is a pivotal time in Naomi's life when everything about her was about to change.

Naomi is a new character so the comics lore of Naomi is still developing. However, her origin story is quite action-packed. Naomi, like everyone else from Port Oswego in Oregon, longed for one of the many world's most famous superheroes to visit her town when she was involved in a larger-than-life emergency with potentially life-altering consequences. The town was quiet and peaceful for as long as anyone can remember. Only when Superman crashed into town during a fight with Mongul did it change everything. Check out this clip from the new series:

DCs Naomi #1 is a story by writers David F. Walker and Naomi. Naomi is one of many locals who rushes for a chance to see Superman making his first ever appearance in Port Oswego. The new clip appears more or less taken from the original source material. Naomi is elated to receive a text alerting her to Superman's presence. She rushes to get out of class to see the blue blur in action. The comics Naomi was able to see the cape in action, but the CWs only managed to make it out of Naomi's school before she passed out.

Naomi does not know that Naomi, much like Superman as a child is a powerful adoptee with an important destiny. It will be fascinating to see if the CWs Naomi brings Tyler Hoechlin (the live-action Superman) into the series. And if any other super-named characters might also meet Naomi in the future.
