Haaland has scored in just two of 12 games this season for country and club.

Erling Braut haaland scored twice after his injury recovery, as Borussia Dortmund won the Bundesliga with victory against Mainz.

Marco Reus had already made Dortmund the leader when the Norwegian forward, who was out since September due to a muscle injury suffered in late September, received a penalty for handball.

Jonathan Burkardt was able to reduce the deficit in the final minutes.

Haaland won the match with his second point in extra time.

The 21-year old has scored 49 goals in 49 Bundesliga matches for Dortmund, and 70 goals in 68 matches across all competitions.

Dortmund captain Reus stated that "it is obvious he had been missing from our team." He keeps at least two to three players busy, so it is vital that he plays.

"To score two goals in his comeback is a great feat. We signed him because of that."

Dortmund won their ninth consecutive home win and is now two points ahead of reigning champions Bayern Munich who will be away at Bayer Leverkusen, third.
