Only 54 seconds separated Marcus Rashford and Jamie Vardy, making it 3-2 for Leicester
Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was under more pressure from Leicester City when they lost a thrilling match at King Power Stadium to the fully deserved winners.
Manchester United threatened to take a point at one stage, but the Foxes rallied and secured their best win in an indifferent season.
United's record-breaking 29-game English league run without defeat at home was ended by this defeat.
It started well for United, when Mason Greenwood's long-range goal put them in front 18 minutes later. However, Leicester were equal before half-time, when Harry Maguire returned from a terrible afternoon and was robbed of his score by KelechiIheanacho, setting up Youri Tielemans to win the match.
After the break, Leicester City was vastly better and took the lead when Caglar Sóyuncu set off a frenzy of late goals by scoring in a goalmouth scramble 12 minutes later.
After three months of being out with shoulder surgery, Marcus Rashford was back to play as a replacement. He ran onto Victor Lindelof’s long ball four minutes later to give an emphatic end.
It was a sign that United were so bad they were trailing again right from the restart. Ayoze Perez pulled back the ball for Jamie Vardy, who flashed a finish past David de Gea.
Patson Daka was the fourth man in stoppage time, and there was no coming back.
Foxes finally find their form
Although it is natural that much attention will be focused on Solskjaer and Manchester United's failures, Leicester deserves huge credit for their performance. They were able to turn around a difficult season by performing at their best.
Jonny Evans was present in defense and provided quality and reassurance while Maguire was tormented by Iheanacho, who displayed a labored and error-prone display.
Although Leicester might have lost to Greenwood's stunner, they didn't lose heart. It was no surprise that Tielemans displayed his skill with that clipped finish that he smashed over De Gea into a corner after Maguire inexplicably dragged on the ball.
This gave Leicester a boost and they won the second half. Only De Gea managed to keep the score down, as United swept them aside.
Soyuncu brought them back in front, but it seemed that their efforts might not be recognized with a win when Rashford returned home with a leveller.
Leicester once again showed determination and quality to strike United again in seconds. They didn't let the lead slip this time.
United were at the brink of collapse, but Leicester held them there as King Power Stadium exploded in celebration.
Brendan Rodgers was left beaming after Daka's goal, which was the last decoration to an impressive display. This was despite being asked a lot of questions by his manager - a ridiculous question considering that he brought the FA Cup from Leicester City last year.
He hopes this will be lift-off for their season.
We will keep you posted.
