BEREA, Ohio -- Pro Bowl running back for the Cleveland Browns Nick Chubb has been forced to withdraw from Sunday's game against Arizona Cardinals due to a calf injury.

Chubb sustained the injury in the 47-42 Los Angeles Chargers loss last week and was forced to miss the week of practice.

Kareem Hunt will take his place.

Hunt stated, "You don't want to see Nick go down." Hunt stated, "Definitely, what he meant to this team was crazy. We have a lot of backs. We should be able hold it down until he comes back.

Coach Kevin Stefanski wasn't ready to announce whether Chubb would be placed on injured reserve after Friday's practice. This would mean that he would miss at least three games.

Jarvis Landry, Browns wide receiver, took another step towards his recovery after sustaining a knee injury. He was officially designated to return to injured reserve on Friday, allowing him to resume practice. Stefanski stated that he would not rule out Landry being activated for the Cardinals game.

With 523 yards rushing this season, Chubb is ranked second in the NFL. He averages 5.8 yards per carry and has four touchdowns.

Hunt has 295 rushing yards, averaging 5.4 yards per carry. While with the Kansas City Chiefs, Hunt was the 2017 NFL running champ.

Landry sustained a medial collateral ligament sprain to his left knee during the first drive against the Houston Texans, Sept. 19. Landry has been out of the last three games, and has six catches totaling 80 yards.
