TOP STORY: Barca sees a way forward with Haaland

Mundo Deportivo reports that Barcelona is considering a move next summer for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haland despite their financial difficulties.

The clause that allows him to release the 75 million clause from his contract for the summer makes the 21-year old available. The report says that the fee is reasonable for the Spanish club. However, the problem is the wage demands of the player.

Barca believes they have a chance to land the striker. Agent Mino Raiola visited Camp Nou last year to discuss this, and also to make several visits to other European clubs.

Barcelona may also have 20 million to hire new players in January. However, they might have to keep that money to sign Haaland in the summer.

Raiola will likely ask for Haaland's wage wages at 20m per year. This is a request that may prove difficult to meet without having to move on to bigger names.

Borussia Dortmund signed the Norway international in 2020 from FC Salzburg. He has shown incredible growth in the Bundesliga. He has seven goals and four assists in five games this season, while he has 68 goals across 67 matches for the club.

As Europe heats up, scouts from Real Madrid and Manchester United, Liverpool, Liverpool, Manchester City, and Manchester City all have seen the Monaco midfielder in action as they try to land one of Europe’s best prospects.

Sources informed ESPN's Julien Laurens of the need for Monaco to negotiate. United will also be looking at Tchouameni if they don't agree to a new deal with Pogba.

09.38 BST: Sources tell ESPN's Sam Marsden & Moises Llorens that Barcelona has been offered Paul Pogba by Manchester United on a free transfer next year.

Pogba (28 years old) is out of contract at Old Trafford by the end of the season. His agent Mino Raiola is looking into Europe's top players in order to find a new club for him.

Pogba has been approached by several Premier League clubs, including Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus. Negotiations can start as early as January 1.

Pogba is yet to make a decision about his future. He hasn't ruled out United extending his contract, but he will also explore other options. As they seek to rebuild their squad, Joan Laporta's new president would allow Barca to sign the France international as a free transfer.

09.17 GMT: Karim Benzema reiterated his desire to team up with Kylian Mbappe, France's club-level teammate, and said that "of course, one-day" he would like Paris Saint-Germain's star to join him at Real Madrid.

Since Benzema returned to the national team earlier in the year, the two forwards have proven they are compatible. Both were scoresheet scorers in Sunday's UEFA Nations League win over Spain (stream replay on ESPN+ in U.S.).

"Why not?" "Why not? "I can repeat it because I've said it before. Of course, one day."

The Madrid press isn't worried about French reports that PSG is planning an increase in capital to help them improve their Mbappe contract renewal offer.

"Mbappe made a decision, and money isn’t the most important thing," AS columnist Tomas Roncero said Friday. "He won’t renew at PSG because of all the money in this world."

08.48 BST. Barcelona's teenage soccer player Pedri has signed a new contract with a release clause of 1 billion dollars ($1.16bn) through 2026, the Catalan club announced on Thursday.

Pedri's contract was due to expire at season's end. Barca decided to tie him down to new terms once the transfer window had closed. The release clause for the Spain international has been more than doubled (it was 400mn previously) to create a new club record.

Antoine Griezmann signed a contract in 2019 that included an 800m buyout option. This was the previous record. During his time at Camp Nou, Lionel Messi's clause was worth 700m.

He made 52 appearances in the senior team's first season, and became a regular midfielder alongside Frenkie de Jong and Sergio Busquets.

He was also recognized internationally for his performances. Luis Enrique, Spain coach called him up in March for his first cap. He went on to become a key player at La Roja's Euro 2020.

PAPER GOSSIP (by Luke Thrower).

Barcelona will need to start over in the renewal talks with Sergi Roberto because discussions between the parties have stalled. Mundo Deportivo reports that talks between the agent for the player and the club have stalled. The current contract for the 29-year old expires next summer. He can talk to clubs abroad in January.

According to journalist Ekrem Kongur, Newcastle United are interested in Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey, a Welsh international duo. Real Madrid are unlikely to renew Bale’s contract, which expires at end of season. This makes a return to the Premier League attractive. Juventus is looking into a possible midfield reshuffle with Ramsey as an option.

Calciomercato reports that Juventus have offered Weston McKennie to their rivals in a possible deal for Aurelien Tuchouameni. As Monaco's midfielder, McKennie, has been linked to a number of European top clubs. However, the Old Lady must move players to sign any player in the midfield. McKennie, a U.S. star, is viewed as one of those players who can leave.

Federico Chiesa, a Juventus winger, is now valued by the club at more than 100m. This is despite links with other teams over the past few weeks. Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the club rates the Italy international highly just a year after his debut in the Serie A side. Juve is still looking to build a future around the 23-year old winger, who they are required to sign for 40m this summer. Juve has previously been linked to Real Madrid, Chelsea, and Liverpool.

According to AS, Real Betis will extend Rodri Sanchez's contract. The 21-year old attacking midfielder has been a star since his debut and will sign a new contract until 2026, with a 40m release clause.
