LiAngelo Ball set to play for Charlotte Hornets' G League team, source says

The Charlotte Hornets signed guard LiAngelo ball to a non-guaranteed deal Thursday. This will allow him to sign with their G League team, according to ESPN.
According to a source, Ball averaged 9.6 points and 2.0 rebounds in his five games in the Las Vegas Summer League. He was also responsible for 1.6 steals over 17.4 minutes. This is in preparation for him joining the Greensboro Swarm in the upcoming G League season.

Ball was signed by the Hornets, but they did not announce in their press release that they would waive him and sign him up for their G League team.

These moves are common in the last days of training camp across all NBA teams. Teams figure out who will claim their final roster spots and two way contracts. They also identify potential candidates for their G League teams.

Before the regular season begins on Tuesday, teams must reach the roster limits for the regular season -- 15 active players plus two spots in two-way contracts -- by Monday's end.

The Athletic reported Ball joining the Hornets' G League team.
