Jon Gruden’s emails were really bad — but I want to see what the ones about Colin Kaepernick said

The chickens are returning home to roost. However, the clucks are not yet audible.

The Wall Street Journal's excellent reporting and The New York Times's investigation has shown that Jon Gruden is homophobic, misogynist, and a racist.

The NFL is currently embroiled in yet another scandal that places race and gender at the center, so it's important to keep an eye on Colin Kaepernick.

Roger Goodell and the NFL would love for Kaepernick's continued blackballing by the league to cease being a reference point in their unfairness, mistreatment of one of the former faces of league. However, his absence from the game is a stark reminder of how unjust the league continues be despite the numerous apologies and the absurd propaganda known as the End Racism/It Takes All of Us messages displayed in end zones. It is convenient that Kaepernicks Netflix show coincides with this moment, as it will premiere later in the month.

The NFL won the 2019 collusion case between Eric Reid and Kaepernick. This could have prevented some of its darkest and most secretive secrets from being exposed publicly.

This is the New York Times report.

Gruden sent numerous emails over a seven-year span that ended in early 2018 and criticized Goodell's efforts to reduce concussions. He also suggested that Eric Reid, a player who demonstrated during the performance of the national anthem should be fired.

After what was revealed in Grudens emails, it is possible to imagine what might have been said between coaches and general managers, TV commentators, and commissioner about one of most polarizing figures of games history in emails. We now have evidence that this crowd is dumb enough that they can say these things electronically distributed messages. If Gruden is an isolated wolf, you may also believe that January 6 was a field trip.

The fantasy of uncovering emails in which Kaepernick was openly discussed by NFL leaders feels almost like M. Night Shyamalan's script.

However, they could inspire change if someone were to be able get them.

Although the last few days have been difficult, there's a funny silver lining. Urban Meyer and Dan Snyder are somewhere toasting Gruden as the man who looks like Chucky caused a scandal that was so significant that it took the spotlight away from the drama they created for their teams and themselves. At least for now.
