Fujifilm announced a new mobile printer using its larger Instax Wide format film. The Instax Link Wide Smartphone printer is a copy of the Instax Mini Link. Simply hook up your smartphone over Bluetooth to access an app that allows you to edit and print your own Polaroid-style photos from your camera roll.
Instax Wide film is larger than Instax Mini. It's about the same size as two credit cards. Although your Link Wide prints might not be as convenient to keep in a wallet than Instax Mini photos they are, they can still be used for other purposes.
Fujifilm's X-10 mirrorless camera last year is compatible with the Link Wide printer, allowing direct printing without the use of a smartphone. You can also print photos from other cameras by simply uploading them to your smartphone and then to Instax Link.
Fujifilm claims that the Link Wide printer can print approximately 100 Instax prints per charge. You can choose from rich and immersive, saturated and classic colors, or you can edit the images using the app, cropping, or adding to them.
Fujifilm will soon release the Instax Link Wide Smartphone printer for $149.95. Fujifilm will also introduce a black-bordered version of Instax Wide film that will retail for $21.99 per 10 packs.
