Next-gen upgrades for this year's Quake remaster are now available on the PS5, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. They offer support for up to 4K / 120fps gaming and no time limit. The upgrade is not available for the PC version of Quake remaster, as it supports 4K/120fps.
The upgrade adds framerate improvements and support for the PS5 Dualsense controllers adaptive triggers, and an integrated speaker. Xbox gamers also get Play Anywhere support from Microsoft. This means that progress and ownership of the game automatically transfer to its PC counterpart.
The process of upgrading is slightly different for Xbox and PlayStation. Xbox owners will see the upgrade automatically installed thanks to Microsoft's Smart Delivery system. Any existing saves should also be carried over. On PS5, users will have to download the upgraded version via the games hub, or the PlayStation Store. Bethesda has instructions on how to do this over on their blog. Bethesda states that PS4 saves can not be transferred to the PS5 version.
