Although it was larger than a person, it wasn't a giant Squid.
Photobomb
A remotely controlled deep sea vessel was surprised by a large sea creature in October 2020 while exploring a wreck in the Red Sea, almost 2,800 feet below its surface.
Although there are many unanswered questions, researchers believe that the tentacled visitor was not a giant squid because of its body measurements. It was also larger than an adult human, an amazing discovery that shows how much we still know about the deep oceans of planets.
Massive Creature
In a newly posted video, Mattie Rodrigue (science program leader at OceanX) recalls that the vessel first detected this tiny, tiny anomaly on a map. The anomaly was the Pella, which was on its way to an Egyptian port in 2011, and stood out in the team's map of the ocean floor.
OceanX is an initiative for ocean exploration. OceanXplorer, an advanced exploration vessel, can send Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) down to as low as 20,000 feet.

Rodrigue stated in the video that suddenly, while looking at the bow at the shipwreck's wreck, this huge creature appears, takes a look around the [remotely controlled underwater vehicle] and wraps its entire body around it.
She added that the team was in shock and had been frozen.
Giant Squids
Mike Vecchione is a squid expert and the team thinks they have identified it as a large purpleback flying squid. According to the researcher, it is a large squid and can be found in the Indo Pacific ocean, particularly in the Red Sea where there is a well-known population.
Vecchione argued that it was not a giant squid, given its size (Architeuthis Dux).

Given the close proximity of the shipwreck, it is a strange sighting.
Vecchione stated in the video that there is no record of members [of that family] of squid aggregating on such a structure.
