Cactus water has a low amount of calories and sugar, and is rich in healthy nutrients.

Vanessa Hudgens doesn't like drinking water.

Shape, 32-year old actress, told Shape that she doesn't like plain water and has had to give up dehydration several times.

Water plays an important role in almost every system of the body, from regulating temperature to cushioning joint movements. Insufficient water can increase your risk of developing a urinary tract infection, kidney damage and seizures.

Hudgens claims that her solution is to add a flavor, releasing Caliwater, her own line of Cactus Water.

The pink plant that is attached to cacti makes cactus water.

Cactus water is made from the pink plant that grows on top of the cactus and not the water in the husk. According to Healthline, it is made by extracting the juice of the bright pink prickly pear (or nopal) cactus.

It has fewer calories than coconut water, another popular plant water substitute.

Vitamins in cactus water can also help reduce inflammation and improve skin health.

Rachel Nazarian, a dermatologist, is a huge fan of cactus waters for skin clearing.

"The skin benefits are derived from a high number of antioxidants and anti-inflammatories," Nazarian told Byrdie.com. These help reduce puffiness and redness, while simultaneously hydrating the skin without adding too much sugar. Although there are no miracle anti-aging cures yet, cactus water's unique combination of skin-boosting vitamins, antioxidants and other nutrients is leading the charge.

Cactus water also has electrolytes that help regulate fluids in the body and antioxidants like betanin, isorhamnetin, also found in lemons and beets, which are both anti-inflammatory.
