You should update your iPhone or iPad as soon as possible. Apple just revealed a new zero-day vulnerability that affects thousands of its tablets and phones, which could be open to hackers.

This patch is included with the most recent iOS 15.0.2 or iPadOS 15.0.2 updates from Apple. The following devices are affected by the security vulnerability, according to an emergency security alert released Monday: iPhone 6s, iPad Pro (all models), iPad Air 2, iPad Air 2 and earlier, iPad Air 3 and later; iPad 5th and later; iPad mini 4 and later; and iPod touch (7th and 7th generations).
The bug is in the IOMobileFrameBuffer devices. The company shared that hackers could exploit it to execute arbitrary codes with kernel privileges on target devices. This would allow them to take over your phone or tablet and do anything they wish with it. This could include injecting malware and stealing data. Not exactly fun stuff.
Apple claims the zero-day was discovered accidentally by an anonymous researcher, but it hasn't provided any details on who or how. It has been given the CVE-2021-30883 designation.
