Bruce feels under pressure following Newcastle's lossless start to the season

Part-owner of Newcastle, Amanda Staveley met Steve Bruce on Monday at the club's training grounds. The future of the manager is still unknown.

Staveley, who holds 10% of the club's shares, and Mehrdad Ghodoussi, Mehrdad's partner, met the players during preparations for Newcastle's match against Tottenham at St. James' Park on Sunday.

Many fans would like Bruce to leave the club.

Newcastle are second from the bottom in Premier League and have never won.

As potential replacements, the new owners of the club, who bought it in a 305m deal Thursday, were linked to former Borussia Dortmund manager Lucien Favre and Steven Gerrard.

Bruce's assistant Graeme Jones may also serve as a temporary replacement for the underfire manager. He is currently scheduled for his 1,000th game in managerial management against Spurs.

Jones, 51, is a Newcastle supporter who joined the club from Bournemouth midway through last year.
