Argument over Alabama's college football loss to Texas A&M led to fatal shooting, police say

BESSEMER (Ala.) -- Police said that a dispute over Saturday's Crimson Tide loss to Texas A&M led to a fatal shooting at an Alabama residence.
Two men began fighting over who was the better team at a Bessemer suburb in Birmingham, as the game was nearing its end Saturday night, according to Lt. Christian Clemons. The homeowner ordered the men to move on and fired shots outside.

Clemons stated that officers found Kealand Amad pickens, who had been repeatedly shot in the torso. The 27-year old was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead at 3:20 a.m. on Sunday.

Before officers arrived, the shooter fled from the scene. Clemons stated that they knew his identity as AL.com reported. However, the suspect remains at large.

Texas A&M defeated Alabama top-ranked 41-38 with a last-play-field goal. This ended the Crimson Tide’s 19-game winning streak.

Clemons stated, "It's just another instance of resorting to violence in order to handle differences."
