Fred, a Manchester United midfielder, missed a great chance for Brazil in half one
Brazil lost points for the first-time in their World Cup qualifying campaign, with a draw in Colombia.
Although they had won nine of their previous qualifiers for Qatar, the Copa America runners up were not as successful in Barranquilla.
Brazil had the best chance, but Manchester United's Fred and Leeds winger Raphinha failed to register. Ajax's Anthony also failed to register.
Brazil is now nine points ahead of the rest in the group.
Colombia is currently in fifth place, 13 points behind.
Brazil seemed more likely to score, especially after Raphinha was introduced from the subs bench after an hour.
Anthony had the best chance of winning the match after Raphinha's superb cross with five minutes remaining. The 21-year old met a fizzing, inswinging cross from right which was stopped by Napoli goalkeeper David Ospina.
Brazil was on top for the first half, with Paris St-Germain star Neymar dropping deep to dictate many of their best moves.
The second half was more chaotic with both sides failing their form.
Colombia had two chances to score in the second period, but Juan Quintero's long-range drive was saved by Alisson of Liverpool before Raphael Borre made it happen with seconds remaining.
Colombia hosts Ecuador on Thursday, while Brazil plays Uruguay on Friday in Manaus. The World Cup automatically qualifies the top four teams from the group.
