1 woman killed and 14 people hospitalized after 'hellish' shooting at a bar in Minnesota, police say

After a shooting in Minnesota on Sunday morning, more than 12 people were hurt and one victim died.

According to a news release, the fatal shooting took place at a St. Paul bar.

Three men were arrested by police in connection to the incident, according to police.

Numerous people were hurt and one was declared dead in a shooting incident at a St. Paul bar on Sunday.

KSTP-TV reported that the shooting took place at Seventh Street Truck Bar in the early hours of the morning. Police stated that they received numerous calls from people "frantically" asking for assistance during the incident.

The news release stated that police arrived on the scene at 12:15 a.m. to find 15 victims of gunshot wounds. They also "worked together with good Samaritans" to provide assistance. A total of 14 people were taken to local hospitals. One woman, who was in her 20s, died.

Steve Linders, spokesperson for St. Paul Police, told WCCO-TV that "I can only describe this as hellish." "I think about that young woman who was killed. She's having fun, then she's in pain. Then she lies in her friends arms, trying to save her life. There is nothing worse than that."

Melvin Carter, Mayor of St. Paul, stated that the shooting had "devastated" the community.

In an update, the Saint Paul Police Department stated that three people were arrested in connection to the shooting.

Police say the men are being treated at the hospital and will be released to go to Ramsey City jail "to await a charge decision."
