Stephanie Grisham, host of "Meet the Press" on NBC, stated that Trump is "taking advantage” of the GOP base.

Former White House Press Secretary points out the ex-president’s persistent false election claims.

During the interview, she stated that "he will never admit to being incorrect or losing anything."

Stephanie Grisham, former White House press secretary, stated that Trump is now great at "taking advantage of" the Republican base. This includes many Americans who "desperate" to have a voice in government.

Grisham recalled Trump's actions during an appearance on "Meet the Press" on NBC. This was while the returns from key battleground states were still coming in on Election Night last November.

The former president was incensed over the election results from Arizona, a longtime Republican stronghold-turned-swing state that Fox News called for now-President Joe Biden earlier than most news networks.

Grisham stated that Trump's remarks were being discussed internally in the early hours of the morning following Election Day. This was despite the fact that no candidate had crossed the 270 electoral vote threshold for declaring victory.

She told Chuck Todd that "When they went down on the stage to take the podium, there was still a kind of debate about what he should have said when he took it." He refused to give in. It's Donald Trump, right?

The ex-president ended up giving a passionate speech, claiming he had won the election even though vote count was still ongoing in many other states.

Trump stated that "We were getting ready for this election", at around 2:30 a.m. ET ET.

He said, "This is major fraud on our country," but he didn't provide any evidence to support this assertion.

Grisham stated that Trump's insistence on pointing out a stolen election only serves to exploit those who look to him for leadership.

She said, "He won't admit to being wrong or losing anything." "And now, he's doubling down and tripling down because there are so many people who support that theory."

She said that one of his strengths, or at least what he was able to do as president, is the ability to take advantage of the base.

Grisham was the former chief of staff for Melania Trump and her press secretary when she resigned on Jan. 6. She recently published a memoir called "I'll take Your Questions Now", which details her time at the Trump White House.

She also stated to Todd her belief that Trump will run in 2024 for his old job and that he would likely bring along "people from the January 6 mind." This refers to the deadly insurrection which occurred at the US Capitol during the certification of electoral college counts.

Grisham stated that he didn't want him running again. "I believe people don't realize that if he runs again in 2024 he won't have any guardrails. He'll not have to worry about being reelected, so he can do what he wants."

She stressed that he will hire anyone he likes, which I believe includes January 6th-minded people.
