LANDOVER, Md. -- New Orleans Saints quarterback/playmaker Taysom Hill was ruled out of Sunday's 33-22 victory over the Washington Football Team with a concussion after taking a hard hit to the head in the second quarter.

Hill was trying to catch a pass and was attempting to lunge at Washington cornerback William Jackson III. Jackson dropped his shoulder and seemed to hit Hill directly with his helmet/shoulder area.

Hill was on the field for just a few minutes before being taken to the locker room.

After losing Jameis Winston to the starting quarterback position, Hill has played a vital and versatile role in the Saints' offense this year.

After being hampered by injuries in the first half of this season, the Saints will be able to enjoy a much-needed bye Week 6. They have also been without Tre'Quan Smith and Michael Thomas, their top wide receivers.

Deonte Harris, wide receiver, also suffered a hamstring injury in Sunday's game after he caught a touchdown pass of 72 yards in the first quarter.
