The third win of the WSL season was Brighton's victory against Tottenham
With a narrow win, Brighton ended Tottenham's unbeaten start to the Women’s Super League season.
Lee Geum-min defeated Rebecca Spencer with a coolly taken low finish to give Seagulls a well-deserved half-time lead.
Rachel Williams, a Spurs striker, was sent off for a second yellow before Victoria Williams added another for Brighton in the final stages.
Kit Graham immediately responded, but Spurs, having won their first four games, couldn't find an equaliser.
They started the day joint WSL leaders but ended it three points behind Arsenal, their north London rivals. Everton won Sunday's second game. Three points behind Chelsea and Spurs, Brighton climb to fifth.
Both sets of players joined hands with US players who made allegations about Paul Riley's sexual misconduct, prior to kick-off. He has since denied the accusations.
In a first-half with few chances and a lot of effort, Lee made the breakthrough minutes after Inessakaagman had hit the bar.
After Hope Powell's Seagulls broke, Danielle Carter was also unable to concentrate.
Spurs were not quick to respond and their chances of preserving their 100% start in the WSL season were hampered when Williams was sent off for second-rate behavior with Felicity Gibbons.
Soon after, Brighton's Williams scored from a corner to make it 2-0. They held on to their victory after Graham had pulled one back only moments later.
