Capital One Venture Card Benefits

This post will provide an in-depth review of Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card. It should answer any questions you might have.

Venture Card members have a number of benefits. These include a large welcome bonus, an incredible rewards structure, a Global Entry credit or TSA Precheck credit, and many more. Let's take a closer look at all this.

Venture Card Bonus: 60,000 Bonus Miles

Capital One Venture Card offers a solid welcome bonus that allows you to earn 60,000 Venture Miles if you spend $3,000 within three months. Capital One miles are worth 1.7 cents per piece, so I think that the $1,020 bonus is worth it.

Venture Card Annual Fee: $95

Capital One Venture Card charges $95 annually. The card can be added to by authorized users at no additional cost. The card's excellent perks, rewards and structure make it a fair annual cost.

Venture Card Rewards Structure

Capital One Venture Card provides unlimited Venture miles. Based on the Capital One mile valuation, this equals 3.4% return on every day spending. This is an industry-leading figure.

This card's rewards structure is very simple and I find it to be one my most rewarding cards for everyday spending. This card is free of foreign transaction fees and I consider it to be the best card for making non-bonused purchases overseas.

Venture miles can be used to purchase travel or for a cent each. They can also be transferred to Capital Ones' airline and hotel partners at a ratio of 1:1.

Venture Miles can be used to pay for travel costs

Venture miles can be redeemed at a rate of one cent per kilometer towards travel purchases. The card provides unlimited Venture miles, so you can earn two cents per dollar towards travel.

The Purchase Eraser feature is the best way to use your Venture miles to pay for travel purchases. This allows you to make a travel purchase with your card and then go online and use your Venture mile to pay the purchase. Within two to three working days, your credit will be applied.

Your Venture miles are eligible for travel purchases from hotels, airlines, railway lines, car rental agencies and limousine services.

All types of travel expenses can be covered by Venture miles

Convert Venture Miles into Hotel Points or Airline Miles

You can also transfer Capital One Venture points to airline miles or hotel points, which is my favorite way to redeem points. Capital One currently has 16 hotel and airline partners.

Airline Partners Hotel Partners Aeromexico Club Premier Accor Live Limitless (ALL) Air Canada Aeroplan Wyndham Rewards Air France-KLM Flying Blue Avianca LifeMiles British Airways Executive Club Cathay Pacific Asia Miles Emirates Skywards Etihad Guest EVA Air Infinity MileageLands Finnair Plus Qantas Frequent Flyer Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer TAP Air Portugal Miles&Go Turkish Airlines Miles&Smiles Capital One transfer partners

Capital One miles are transferred to all partners at a 1:1 ratio with the exception of EVA Air Infinity mileageLands or Accor Live Limitless. Capital One offers transfer bonuses to Venture miles, in addition to the usual transfer ratios.

This will prove to be the most useful if you are looking to fly international first and business class. These flights will likely be priced at the most reasonable prices with airline miles. However, they can be prohibitively costly using cash.

Flying Blue can redeem your Flying Blue miles for Air France business class redemptions by transferring Venture miles to Flying Blue

Venture Card Global Entry/TSA Credit Pre-Check

Venture Card provides a Global Entry credit or TSA Precheck credit once every four year. The membership fee can be charged to your Capital One Venture Card and will be automatically refunded. It doesn't matter for whom the fee was paid, so long as it is charged to your card that is eligible.

Are you a good candidate for the Venture Card?

There are many great travel credit cards available. So how do you choose the Capital One Venture Card? The Capital One Venture Card is a great choice if you are looking to earn airline mile and spend a lot in non-bonused areas (both domestically and internationally). The Capital One Venture rewards structure is the best you will find for any credit card. It allows you to earn 2x airline miles per day.

Let's also look at other cards you should consider, such as business credit cards or personal travel rewards cards.

Restrictions on Venture Card Applications

These are the terms and conditions of the Venture Card application:

This bonus may not be available to existing or former Account holders.

You won't be able to get the bonus if you have the card now or in the past.

There are also some general Capital One restrictions that you should be aware of.

Capital One pulls credit from three credit bureaus. Personally, I don't find this to be an issue, but it is worth knowing.

Two Capital One cards cannot be applied for at once. The second card, even if it is different, will automatically be marked duplicate.

No matter if you have personal or business cards, your Capital One card approvals are limited to one per six months.

Similar alternatives to the Venture Card

The Citi Double Cash Card (review), which has no annual fees, is great for cashback. However, it does not come with an initial bonus. The card's rewards can be converted into Citi ThankYou Points, which means that it could earn the equivalent of 2x airline mile.

There are other options if you are looking for a card that earns you travel rewards.

Quick Comparison: Venture Vs. VentureOne

The Venture Card comes in two forms. There are two versions of the Venture Card. What is the difference between Venture One and Venture One?

Venture offers Venture for $95 annually, a bonus of 60,000 Venture Miles, and 2x Venture Miles per dollar spent

VentureOne is free of annual fees, offers a bonus 20,000 Venture Miles, and 1.25x Venture Miles per dollar

The VentureOne has a better welcome bonus and a better return on investment, so it should not be difficult to apply for the Venture. If the Venture isn't working out for you, you can always downgrade to VentureOne after a year.
