Elon Musk, Tesla CEO, raised concerns Saturday about the staffing at its new Gigafactory plant in Berlin. Reuters reported.

According to the report, Musk stated that he was worried about not being able to find enough people on Saturday. We need to attract great talent from Europe.

Musk made the comments during a live stream that was part of a music festival at the new Gigafactory BerlinBrandenburg. Vehicles were expected to start rolling off the line in a matter of weeks.

Since the announcement of the factory's opening in 2019, concerns about the staffing situation have been growing. Some observers pointed out the stark differences between American and German working cultures.

Handelsblatt, a local newspaper reported earlier this year that the company was having difficulty filling positions at the factory. They claimed that skilled battery-cell workers were in short supply in Germany.

Although the factory was expected to open in July of this year, construction on Grnheide was delayed by several issues including paperwork requirements.

Tesla stated in its July quarterly filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission that "We are currently constructing Gigafactory Berlin in anticipation of receiving final permits."

Environmental concerns have been raised, including concern about the impact on local lizard populations.
