Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder 3 live results and analysis

Tyson Fury defends the WBC heavyweight title and heavyweight lineal champion against Deontay wilder Saturday at T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas (ESPN+PPV, 9:15 p.m. ET. Preliminary fights will begin at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN2 or ESPN+.
Wilder lost the title to Fury with a seventh round TKO win in February 2020. This was the rematch of an alleged split draw in 2018. Fury (30-0-1 and 21 KOs), 33-year-old Fury from Manchester, England has promised another victory in KO and stated he would send Wilder into an early retirement.

Fury stated that Fury was in denial and that he is getting knocked out during Wednesday's news conference. His legacy is in pieces. "I knocked him out and now I'm going retire him."

Wilder, 35, Tuscaloosa (Alabama), (42-1-1, 41KOs), said Saturday's fight will be a memorable one and that he is certain he will win this time.

Wilder stated, "I don’t have anything to prove." Wilder said, "I am in a great place and in great mind. There are many great people around me. This fight is about redemption and retaliation.

"Saturday night will be a completely different fight. Trilogies of this nature are rare and this one will go down in history.

Efe Ajagba, heavyweight power puncher, takes on Frank Sanchez in 10-rounds heavyweight fight, while Jared Anderson faces Vladimir Tereshkin for an eight-round heavyweight bout.

Williams upset by Hernandez in split-decision win

Vladimir Hernandez, Stockton, California, (31-2-1; 16 KOs), pulled off a major upset over Julian Williams (27-3-1; 16 KOs), thereby ending Williams' return to fight. Two judges gave Hernandez the junior middleweight bout with 97-93 and 96-24. Williams won 96-94 from a third judge.

Williams, who was fighting out of Philadelphia fought despite a 20 month layoff. This was William's first fight after he lost the WBA and IBF titles in January 2020 to Jeison Rosario via fifth round TKO. He had been scheduled to fight twice last year but was unable to due to injury. Williams, 31 years old, had his sights set on Jermell Charlo, WBA, and IBF champ. He was 0-2 in the last two.

Compubox reports that Hernandez was outpunched by Williams in punches of 70 to 60 during the first five rounds. Hernandez was able to defeat him by 77-42 in the last five rounds.

Hernandez won despite sustaining a cut to his left eye in round one. Hernandez applied constant pressure throughout the fight, even though his cut was wider. Hernandez's speed and pressure was what turned the fight around. Williams slowed down in the latter rounds.

Ramirez dominates Gonzalez for eighth consecutive victory

Robeisy Ramirez was a two-time Olympic gold-medalist. She won the 10-rounds with a unanimous decision victory over Orlando Gonzalez in a featherweight fight.

Gonzalez (17-1-10 KOs), a Puerto Rican 26-year-old, was defeated by Gonzalez via scores of 99-91, 97-93, and 99-91. Ramirez (8-1 and 4 KOs), boxed on the back foot, comfortably banking rounds against his most formidable foe.

Ramirez, 27, from Cuba, lost his pro debut, but has won every fight since.

Carrington scores unanimous decision in pro debut

Bruce Carrington, highly-touted amateur featherweight (1-0, 0KOs), made a stunning pro debut. He defeated Cesar Cantu (3-3, 1KOs) by unanimous decision: 40-36. 40-36. and 40-36.

In every aspect of the bout, Cantu (28-year-old Mexican from Weslaco) was outclassed by Cantu, a Brooklyn native. At the end of round three, he hurt Cantu with an elbow and right hand. Carrington was an alternate member of the U.S. Olympic Boxing Team in 2016. Okamoto

Marshall dominated by Faust in TKO win

To kick off Fury-Wilder's undercard, Viktor Faust defeated Mike Marshall in the third round.

The 29-year old heavyweight knocked Marshall out in the second round, and again in the third. Referee Robert Hoyle stopped proceedings immediately after Marshall's second knockdown (at 1:49 in the round).

With 6 KOs, the Ukrainian improved to 8-0. Marshall, a 33 year-old Danbury, Connecticut resident, is now 6-2-1
