How to Beat The DMV License Renewal Process?
As I walk through the valley of shadow and death I shall fear no evil. Except for clerks. Those guys will still freak me out. Their constant demand of forms you need to fill out in order to get other forms is stolen straight out of Hell’s torture 101 books. I feel like Pixar’s depiction of them as sloths in Zootopia was a gentle compliment, not satire.
Ok, maybe I’m being overdramatic, but can you really blame me? I just went through the God damned
driver’s license renewal process. I would have honestly killed myself along with a couple of unfortunate clerks somewhere down the lane if it wasn’t for help from my friends and
Driver-Start.com. They were the one and only that kept me going forward to my goal and counseled me with advice. What’s all the fuss about, you may ask and I will answer –
DMV license renewalis not a walk in the park. Underwater stones are unavoidable even if you think you’ve come prepared.
You never know what will happen next at a DMV license renewal office
You can never get too prepared for your
driver’s license renewal. I, for once, have previously managed the process via email. I knew there were some limitations like, for example, senior citizens who are 70 and older can’t apply but hey, I’m only 39. I also knew that there’s a specific time limit the
DMV license renewal office has set. You can apply within two month prior to your license’s expiration date, or you can apply for your
driver’s license renewal within two month after it has expired. Everything seemed peach perfect when I submitted my application and guess what – I still did not know about new limitations. A roadblock appeared on my way. You can only use the email option twice. Succeed at it for two times and it’s gone like lives of one poor Italian plumber who’s princess is always in an another castle. And guess what? Your humble servant already used up all of his two attempts. What gives DMV? Why are we only allowed to use a single comfortable way of applying for
driver’s license renewalfor two times? Does making people’s life easier for too long make your dark soul bleed? This is literal torture, I tell you. We are given a decent option, sip a breath of fresh air from it only for it to be taken away from us and replaced with a prolonged nightmare.
But I still can apply for driver’s license renewal online, can I?
Nope. Well, not in my case, at least. You have to be a registered and certified CA DMV user for that, meaning you must provide them with your DL or ID card number, the state that issued it, your date of birth, your SNN number and, of course, a valid email address. While all of that is rather time consuming, it’s not a challenge. Living in Florida, on the other hand, is. I can’t apply for my driver’s license renewal online here. Folk from NY or California can, but us, the poor guys from Main or Florida cant. The system simply does not work in a handful of states. So, yah, if you feel like applying for DMV license renewal online you have to make sure your home state is considered an internet user by them.
The only thing left for me to do was…
Applying in person, of course! Because why wouldn’t it be? My life was too darn perfect before this brick of bureaucracy fell straight into my face. The sheer amount of forms I had to fill out was intolerable. All those I-94’s and I-20’es were enough to get the rebel in me quit whatever I was doing and fly off to the moon. But even that wasn’t the worst part. The order was. There’s a specific order in which you can get your forms and one relies on the other. Does anyone of those hellish clerks tell you about it? No. They are just like, “I need the X08-123BCCwhatever-mumbo-jumbo right now”. Where can I get it? “Who knows? Try the second window” and in the second window they usually don’t know anything about the X08-123BCCwhatever-mumbo-jumbo, but they are desperate for your blood and a filled I-something blank. That noted, I barely made it out of the DMV office alive on my first attempt. Needless to say, I’ve lost 4 hours and accomplished nothing. Then I found the driver-start.com site on the internet and it provided me with all sorts of cool tips and tricks. I finally knew what needed to be done and in what order. Thanks, faithful site, I don’t know where I would have been without your help. If you ever need your
