Madonna lifted her skirt in order to show Jimmy Fallon and the audience of "Tonight Show" a quick glimpse at her butt after a recent appearance on the late-night talk-show.

Fallon and the pop icon began their conversation Thursday talking about Madonna's concert documentary "Madame X" which is streaming now on Paramount+.

The film is named after Madonna's 2019 album. It follows Madonna on her 11th concert tour through Portugal in January 2020.

Art is an important part of our lives. This is something that I think people don't emphasize enough. Madonna said that James Baldwin is a great inspiration to her.

She continued, "Artists are here to disturb peace," and added that it was "in the best possible way."

Fallon agreed with her but said, "Yeah you get into good trouble." This quote is from John Lewis, a civil rights leader who encouraged people to be involved in "good trouble, needed trouble".

Seconds later, Madonna moved forward to spread herself across Fallon's desk to show that she "disturbs the peace". Fallon was stunned and said, "No, no, why would I?"

Stop, stop, stop it. Fallon exclaimed, "I don't know how to proceed." He tried to cover Madonna with his jacket.

Madonna said "No one's going to see anything, my godsh" while quickly turning her back and raising her skirt so that her butt and tights could be seen.

Madonna wasn't the first to attract attention on a late night talk show with Fallon's surprising moment.

In 1994, Madonna used expletives and smoked a cigar during a conversation on "Late Show" with David Letterman. Two years later, Madonna said to Spin that she regretted the incident and that Letterman's introduction of her to the interview (where he discussed her sexual partners) was so derogatory.

David Letterman knew that I was going to do it. I spoke to producers. Everyone was like, "This will be funny if they say 'fuck’ a lot and then they'll keep bleeping at you," she said. David was a little freaked out when I started to do it. I was derogatoryly introduced by him.

She said, "I couldn’t believe how freaked-out people were. In retrospect, however, I am so glad that I did it."
