Riley Williams, 22-year-old, has been officially charged with the theft Nancy Pelosi’s laptop during the Capitol Riot.
Williams boasted about his online theft of the laptop.
An ex-boyfriend Williams was part of the tipping team that alerted authorities.
Court filings reveal that a Capitol Riot suspect was formally charged with the theft of Nancy Pelosi’s laptop.
According to an indictment unveiled Thursday, Riley Williams, 22-year-old from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania stole Nancy Pelosi’s laptop on Jan 6, according to which he planned to sell it to Russian intelligence agents.
According to the indictment, she was charged with eight charges, including theft from government property, obstruction of an official proceeding and assaulting or resisting officers.
According to the report, Williams stole a Hewlett-Packard laptop computer that was located in the office of a U.S. member. Congress.
According to The Daily Mail, Williams could spend 20 years in prison and face fines up to $600,000.
According to a January affidavit, Williams' involvement in Capitol riot was partly revealed by a tip-off received from a former boyfriend.
According to the FBI, Williams' ex-Romantic Partner told authorities that he had seen Williams in news footage.
According to the boyfriend, she claimed that she told people she planned to send Pelosi’s stolen laptop to a Russian friend who would then sell it to its foreign intelligence services.
According to the affidavit, authorities reviewed video and image evidence from January 6, and found Williams entering the Capitol and appearing to exit Pelosi’s office.
Williams is seen in one video filming herself using the laptop.
A series of Discord messages obtained from the FBI show that Williams was writing, "I STOLESHIT FROM NANCYPOLESI [sic]".
The account stated that "I DOMT [sic] NOT CARE I TOOK NANY POLESIS [sic] HARD DIVES I DONT KILL ME,"

Drew Hammill, Pelosi's deputy chief-of-staff, stated previously that the laptop was only used for presentations.

CNN reports that Prosecutors are still investigating claims that she wanted to send the laptop abroad.
Lori Ulrich, Williams' lawyer, stated that Williams "took the President’s bait and went into the Capitol." However she denied that she was responsible.
Ulrich claimed that Williams was "threatened" by a former abusive boyfriend.
It has not been found.
According to The Daily Mail, Williams was banned from the internet by a Pennsylvania federal judge while she waited for trial. She was also restricted to using a flip-phone after being accused of deleting social media accounts.
According to Insider's tracker, more than 660 people were charged in connection to the Capitol riot.
