In a surprisingly thin reaction, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (Republican from Kentucky) sent President Joe Biden an angry letter Friday, warning him that he will not deal again on the debt limit because of Senate Majority leader Chuck Schumers childish tantrum which poisoned it.

In a deal McConnell and Schumer had made, eleven Senate Republicans voted with Democrats Thursday to temporarily lift the debt limit until December.

Schumer, however, railed against his Republican Senate colleagues for their risky and dangerous partisan game. He also praised fellow Democrats who pulled our country back from that cliffs edge Republicans tried to push.

In a letter to Biden, McConnell stressed that Republicans had filled the leadership void that plagued the Senate since January ..... If your all-Democratic government becomes a new crisis, I won't provide this assistance again.

He accused Schumer, accusing him of dithering so long that he led the nation to disaster over the debt ceiling impasse. McConnell seemed to forget that the debt was made worse by Donald Trump's extravagant federal spending and huge corporate tax cuts.

In a bizarre spectacle, Senator Schumer then exploded in a rant so partisan and angry that even Democratic senators were visibly embarrassed. McConnell also complained.

In fact, while the New York Democrat was speaking, Senator Joe Manchin (D.W.Va.), can be seen sitting behind him, his head in his hands.

The Hill reported that Sen. Mitt Romney (R - Utah) and Republican Whip Senator John Thune (South Dakota) all spoke to Schumer afterwards. Thune later told reporters: He let me have it, according The Hill.

McConnell complained that this tantrum escalated an angry incompetence pattern from Senator Schumer.

McConnell warned Schumers childish behaviour only made it more difficult for the Republican members who were able to facilitate this temporary patch. It has further poisoned the well.

Schumers' hysterics are a warning sign. McConnell concluded that I will not participate in any future efforts to reduce the effects of Democratic mismanagement.

Critics pointed out that McConnell should be trained to manage temper tantrums after the abuse he received from the former president. According to Robert Costa and Bob Woodward, Trump used expletives against McConnell in one episode after he congratulated Biden on winning the presidency.
