My new favorite Twitter account just posts classic clips of SNL hosts introducing the musical guest

My Friday highlight has been discovering the @snlhostsintro twitter account. It posts clips from Saturday Night Live hosts introducing musical guests. Although the account isn't new, it was set up in September and has over 37,000 followers. I felt it was my duty write about it as it posts amazing time capsules.
To give you an idea of how Phish works, here's a simple example: Al Gore, former vice president of the United States, introduces Phish.

But how about Sean Penn, with a casually-yet-confidently undone bow tie, introducing LL Cool J?

Here's Bernadette Peters, introducing The Go-Gos

Christine Baranski enthusiastically introduced The Cure, a notoriously downbeat band.

Nathan Lane is my favorite SNL musical guest introduction.

The magic of this account lies in the fact that tweets are not contextualized. Every time I click on a new video, it is exciting to see the host introduce their guest and what they will do. The cognitive dissonance between host and band can be delightful. I can't imagine John McCain or The White Stripes being all that friendly backstage.

The massive popularity of @CraigWeekend's Friday video featuring Daniel Craig introducing The Weeknd is most likely the inspiration for the account. Craig discovered the meme's existence in an interview with The New York Times, despite having nearly 500,000 followers.

It's Friday afternoon as we speak, and I am about see my social media feeds filled with a video of your declaring it the weekend. Is this something that has gotten you back in any way due to the popularity of this? What is this? You can see a clip from Saturday Night Live where you introduced the Weeknd almost with a sense relief. It's a popular clip that people post to welcome in the weekend. You do? It's incredible. It's amazing. It's wonderful. That's wonderful.

It just doesn't feel like weekend, as we still haven't seen the @CraigWeekend update. Here are the last weeks to get you excited for the weekend.
