The video of Lori Vallow's 17-year old daughter, Lori Vallow, talking to police about her stepfather's shooting death has been released.
Police say Tylee Ryan and Chad Daybell were killed in an apocalyptic conspiracy. She was interviewed by Chandler police two months prior to her disappearance with her brother JJ Vallow.
The July 2019 interview was one of a number of investigative materials that Insider released this week. Ryan plays with her naked feet while she talks about Charles Vallow's shooting and death in an argument.
According to an Insider probable cause affidavit, police learned that Lori Vallow planned to kill her husband after she believed he was controlled by a demon. After Daybell and her children were discovered dead, Vallow was arrested for the murder.
Ryan relates that she woke up on July 11, 2019, to an argument between Charles Vallow (her mother) and Alex Cox (her uncle). Police interviewed her and she said that she took a bat out of her room to feel safe.
She ordered Vallow to leave her mother's side. He looked even angrier than ever before.
Ryan stated in an interview that "Obviously I didn’t hit him or any other thing with the bat." "It was just for security, I guess. To know that I had it."
She said that Vallow took Ryan's bat and Cox pulled him backwards. This prompted her and her 7 year-old brother, to flee the house.
Ryan stated, "I ran out of the door and kind of just stood there with little brother," Ryan.

On December 20, the Rexburg Police Department launched their investigation into Tylee Ryan's disappearance and J.J. Vallow's disappearance. The National Center for Missing and Exploited children.
Ryan claimed to police that she heard a loud noise. She thought it was a baseball bat hitting the floor. Ryan claimed that her mother called Ryan and told Ryan to get in the car so they could go to Burger King.
Cox, Lori Vallow’s brother, later admitted to police that he shot Charles Vallow after he refused the bat. Although initially police considered that the shooting was an act of self defense, Lori Vallow was later charged with conspiring to kill her husband with Cox.
According to an affidavit seen by Insider, Cox believed Vallow had special powers. She was also believed that Vallow was a goddess who prepared 144,000 people for the end. Three months after Ryan and her brother, Cox was last seen alive, police say Cox died from natural causes in December 2019.
Lori Vallow's death is the subject of a web of deaths
Charles Vallow's death triggered a series of criminal investigations into Lori Vallow, Daybell and Daybell. Daybell was an apocalyptic novelist she married four months later.
Vallow and Cox left shortly after the death to move to Idaho where Daybell married Vallow a month later.
After their grandmother claimed she hadn't heard from them for months, Vallow and Daybell were visited by police in Rexburg. Police later discovered that Vallow claimed her children were living with relatives.
The couple vanished the next day and were found vacationing in Hawaii in Feb.
After Ryan's and JJ's remains were discovered on Daybell’s property in May, Daybell and Vallow were each charged with first-degree Murder.
People who knew Vallow said that Vallow believed her children were "possessed" and had become zombies. Court documents from a separate case in which Vallow's niece was involved show this.
Vallow was declared "not competent" to proceed with the trial regarding her children's deaths. Since then, Vallow has been receiving mental healthcare treatment. Daybell and Vallow will be tried together if she is found competent. In October 2019, Tammy Daybell's death, the couple were also charged with conspiracy to murder first-degree.
Daybell pleaded not guilty in all cases relating to the deaths of his children and ex-wife.
