Nintendo’s Switch OLED models is now available

Updated October 8th at 12:42 PM ET: Amazon released its Switch OLED console stock. We are still waiting for Walmart and Best Buy to release the Switch OLED consoles. We will keep this blog updated as more information becomes available.
The latest version of the popular Nintendo Switch OLED model is now online. They have been available at GameStop but quickly sold out. The same thing happens through Nintendo's online store. Amazon now has a stock of consoles. The model with the white Joy-Con can be found here. Or the model that comes with the neon red Joy-Con and blue Joy-Con.

We will continue to add retailers as they become available online. We are still waiting for Walmart and Best Buy to join the fun. There are landing pages listing both the white and red models as out of stock.

The Switch OLED model, which costs $350, is the highest end of Nintendo's current console line-up. The standard Switch and portable-only Switch Lite are $300 and $200 below. New model features a large screen upgrade to a seven-inch OLED panel, which provides better color quality and brightness. The Switch also gets some additional features, including a stronger kickstand that allows for better articulation, improved audio quality in handheld mode, an ethernet port, and a dock with an Ethernet port. Although the internal storage has been increased from 32GB to 64GB, it is still a good idea to purchase a microSD card like this SanDisk model (which retails for $49 on Amazon).

Our review suggests that the Switch OLED might not be enough to convince some people to buy a new Switch OLED. It is slower and less capable when docked than their old Switch. However, Switch OLED owners who are first-time Switch owners and those who want the best handheld experience possible when they take their eyes off the TV should make the switch.
