The Test and limited-overs contracts were replaced by single contracts for 20 players that cover all formats. They run for 12 month starting 1 October 2021.
Although Batter Zak Crowley was dropped from the second Test against India, his central contract is still in place. Moeen Ali, an all-rounder who was given a white-ball contract last season and retired from Test cricket last week, has been granted a central contract.

Yorkshire's Malan was the top-ranked T20 batsman in the world and was awarded an incremental contract. He scored scores of 70, 31, and five when he was recalled to the Test team against India.
Robinson, a Sussex player, claimed match figures of 7 to 42 in his Test debut against New Zealand. However, Robinson was banned for eight matches after he posted racist and sexist comments.
He was back against India and has now taken 28 wickets, an average of 19.60 in five Tests.
Leach, a Somerset left-arm spinner, was not on an incremental deal and did not participate in any of England’s six Tests this summer.

Liam Livingstone from Lancashire, the batter who scored England's fastest T20 century, was one of four players to be awarded an increment contract. This contract is for those "who might feature for England on less predictable terms".
Saqib Mahmood and Craig Overton were awarded pace bowling development contracts.
England has played more cricket since the outbreak coronavirus pandemic. They will be competing in the T20 World Cup in Oman and the United Arab Emirates from 17 October to 14 Nov before heading to Australia for the Ashes.
In 2022, there will be a T20 and Test tour of West Indies. Next summer, there will be a series in the Netherlands against New Zealand, India, and South Africa.
