Manchester City is one of the two WSL teams (also Chelsea), that Manchester United has failed to beat.
After recent Women's Super League matches between two of the newest football rivals, "Manchester is Blue" was the predictable outcome.
Manchester United was only founded in May 2018 and has never defeated City in three WSL meetings. However, on Saturday they could be the favourites.
Marc Skinner, the new boss, takes over the derby at Leigh Sports Village at 13:30 BST. The live broadcast will be on BBC One. Skinner says it doesn't matter who the favourites might be.
City, who are currently enduring their longest losing streak in the WSL sits five places below United in table and has only one win in their first four games. Is it time to strike?
"Are they in a better position than Manchester City right now?" Skinner stated that he didn't know their plans.
"If we are the favourites then we are the favourites." It doesn't bother me. It doesn't really matter to me. It doesn't matter what it is. What matters is that you focus.
"Sometimes favourites switch off. My players shouldn't switch off. We can't be the favourites or the underdogs.
"We are aware that [City] may have had a rough ride, but they are a quality team with great players - just like us. We all know that in three to four games it can turn so we need to keep our eyes on the ball.
Taylor: "It will get even better"
Manchester United currently has six points more than Manchester City in WSL's table
Gareth Taylor's side were beaten by West Ham 2-0 last week, one month after being eliminated from the Champions League qualifying stages.
The City's problems have been made worse by an injury crisis that resulted from a preseason cut by the Olympic Games.
The pressure is growing. Taylor was asked about his future earlier in the week. He remained defiant and answered any questions regarding local derby.
"We are really in a difficult moment. It will get better. The City boss said that we must take responsibility and close our chances off."
It's a huge game. It's a derby. It's a derby game that I cannot wait to see. We are aware that we must be more powerful in the last third. It's all about sticking to our game plan and our process.
"Everybody wants Manchester to be blue."
Janine Beckie was at the Manchester City bench when the teams last met in the WSL
United, Chelsea and City are the only sides United have yet to beat in the WSL. They will be hoping to do so on Saturday.
City was 3-0 winners at the February league meeting.
City, last year's runners up, are the favourites in previous encounters in terms of stature, league position, and results.
Janine Beckie from City's Canada is adamant that the thrill of winning a Manchester derby is not something she can forget.
Beckie said that Beckie was an Manchester United fan before he moved to the United States. He called me a traitor when he signed my contract.
"I didn't know what this rivalry was until I arrived here and played in one. It was unlike anything I've ever seen. It is a great feeling to be able play on one, and be on the blue side. It's just something.
"Manchester is such an extraordinary place and Manchester football has such a special spot in Manchester that everybody wants to shout 'oh Manchester is blue' after the derby is over. Everyone wants that title, and that is enough motivation for everyone.
