Adam Schiff claims Robert Mueller suffering 'heartbreaking' cognitive decline

Rep. Adam Schiff is chairman of the House Intelligence Committee and spoke out about Robert Mueller's "heartbreakingly" lack of acuity. He also revealed details about the special counsel who was appointed during the Trump Russia probe.
Mueller, now 76 years old, was appointed special counsel after the firing of FBI Director James Comey by former President Donald Trump. Schiff claims that Mueller was pursued by him to give his July 2019 testimony. However, Schiff found it "heartbreaking" when he couldn't answer simple questions.

According to CNN, Schiff said that if I had known how much he had changed I wouldn't have pursued his testimony as vigorously.

California Democrat Schiff, who was a champion of liberals during the first impeachment probe but who was an enemy to conservatives for repeating Trump's rebuff about a "Russia hoax", admitted that he instructed Democrats to simplify their questioning strategy following the first session to accommodate Mueller’s cognitive inhibitions.

Schiff stated to the committee that there were no questions that required a narrative answer, according his book. "No multipart questions. If your question seems too long, don't worry. Reduce it.

The most senior special counsel did not reach a conclusion about whether Trump obstructed justice. That was left to William Barr, the then-Attorney general.

Mueller's team didn't charge Trump, or any of his campaign members with conspiring to the Russian government during the 2016 elections. Prosecutors said that the campaign "expected it to benefit" from Russia’s interference in the 2016 election.

Mueller stated in his testimony that "the president was not exonerated."

Trump called Mueller's testimony "horrible."
