Jamie Clayton (Sense8, The L Word, Generation Q) will take on the role of Doug Bradley in the cult-favorite Hellraiser films. Although Pinhead was, shall we say it, anachronistic, this is the first time that the Cenobite leader has been played by a woman. A press release states that the film is being produced for Hulu. It is being directed by David Bruckner (The Night House), from a script written by Luke Piotrowski and Ben Collins, with a story written by David S. Goyer. Production has just finished. The cast also includes Odessa Azion (Blade Runner 2049), Goran Visnjic, Drew Starkey (The Boys), Adam Faison (Aoife Hins), and Hiam Abbass. It is described as a faithful, but sophisticated reimagining of the 1987 film and includes Barker as one of its producers.

Barker sounds very excited about this new version of his creation, and that is a compliment. He said that he had seen some of the Hellraiser movie's designs. They pay homage to the original film but take it to new places. This Hellraiser is on a scale I didn't expect. David and his team are deeply rooted in the stories mythology. What excites me most is their desire for the original to be honored even as they reinvent it for a new generation. Bruckner is obviously pleased to have my approval. Clive was a great supporter and guide in the amazing universe he has created. This, combined with a dedicated cast including Jamie Clayton who embodies the role of the Hell Priest, will create a special chapter in the Hellraiser's history.

Hellraiser will be bringing its horror puzzle to Hulu in America next year. This coincides with the 35th anniversary of the original film's release.
