Autographed 'Shoeless' Joe Jackson photograph from 1911 sells for $1.47 million

NEW YORK -- Frank W. Smith's autographed 1911 "Shoeless Joe Jackson photograph sold for $1.47 Million, making it the highest-paid signed sports photograph ever.
Christie's and Hunt Auctions in New York offered the photo in the auction Extra Innings - A Private Collection of Important Baseball Memorabilia.

A 246-lot auction featured a Babe Ruth professional baseball bat with eight home runs notches, a 1925 Lou Gehrig autographed rookie postcard that went for $687,000.50, and a 1952 Joe DiMaggio signed handwritten letter to Marilyn Monroe, which sold for $525,000.
