Warner Bros. just released a final trailer for Dune, which is due to be released later in the month. The majority of the footage is new footage that expands scenes we've seen. There are longer clips of Paul (Timothe Chamet) talking about his dreams of Chani Zendaya (Jason Momoa), and more of Duncan's big fight scenes. And, of course, there's ornithopters everywhere. The trailer has a consistent theme. It's about Paul (played by Oscar Isaac) realizing the danger that his father (Duke Leto), and his family are in when they arrive to control the planet Arrakis. Also, the beginning stages of the war waged to bring down House Atreides.
Even though we are getting more conversational snippets from the trailer, much of it is focused on big picture action such as Duncans brawl with Harkonnen forces and massive clashes between Harkonnen-Atreides forces that were unaware of the double standards of Baron Vladimir Harkonnen, Arrakis' former ruler (Stellan Skarsgrd). Paul's fear of the mind killer line and sandworms are included for good measure.
It's a little more typical Dune movie trailer than what we have seen before. Denis Villeneuve would prefer that you see it in a large theater rather than streaming it simultaneously on HBO Max. It seems that you will have a great time regardless of which option you choose, based on the early information. Dune opens in theaters and HBO Max in the U.S. October 22.
