TOP STORY: PSG joins the chase for Salah

Liverpool's star Mohamed Salah is currently in negotiations for a new contract. However, Fabrizio Romano, a journalist, has revealed that Paris Saint-Germain was interested in Salah in the summer and could move again if necessary to replace Kylian Maappe.

Romano posted an update on the Rio Ferdinand Presents Five Youtube channel. He stated that Salah was still in talks with Liverpool. According to what I hear, he loves Liverpool, the fans and the city.

"But there has not been an agreement for a new contract. If players like Kylian Mbapp leave, we should be watching out for other clubs. Liverpool will continue to be Salah's number one priority until next summer.

The Reds are keen to secure their core assets to avoid a similar situation as Georginio Wijaldum's free transfer from Anfield to Parc de Princes.

Parisians are currently dealing with a contract dispute as Mbappe, the forward aged 22, was terminated from his deal in summer. Real Madrid made a few late offers for the France international, but he is still not in a contractual agreement. He could be leaving the club.

PSG was interested in Salah because of the late interest from LaLiga. Romano stated that PSG considered Salah as a possible replacement if Mbappe were sold to Real Madrid.

"They were ready to do something large, and they wanted it to be done with Salah."
