Apple's Conversation Boost feature, which uses the AirPods Pro in order to help people hear their voices, is now available (via Macrumors). The update also included support for the new feature in the Find My App, which made it easier to locate AirPods Pro or AirPods Max.
Apple's headphones have Conversation Boost as a Custom Transparency mode. The AirPods Pro's beam-forming microphones attempt to separate voices from background noise when the feature is activated. You can also adjust the tone, transparency, amplifying and amplifying power of what you hear.
The following steps will enable this feature:
Tap on Accessibility and open Settings.
Tap Audio / Video under the Hearing section.
You can toggle your headphone accommodations to.
To toggle Transparency Mode on, tap the button.
Scroll down to Conversation Boost, and turn it on.
Conversation Boost requires AirPods Pro running firmware 4.A400. However, you can check if your AirPods Pro or Max are running the latest firmware in the Settings app.
Tap General, then About.
Tap on the AirPods that are connected to your device and locate it.
Look for the Firmware Version field next to the firmware number.
Conversation Boost is the latest accessibility feature Apple added to its devices over the past year. The company announced a number of updates earlier in May. These included the ability to use muscle movements on the Apple Watch as input methods and the support for third-party eye tracking devices on the iPad.
