Tom Brady’s favorite team to beat? The Giants, of course

Most people see Tom Brady as the GOAT in the National Football League. Brady, however, is just like any other player in holding on to things and being a bit petty.

Brady was a member of one of the most exclusive football clubs when he became the fourth quarterback to defeat all 32 NFL teams. He joined Peyton Manning and Drew Brees. They are the only members. Tom also broke Brees all time passing yards record in this match. This Sunday, he defeated his old team, the New England Patriots. Now that Brady has joined the club, everybody wants to know which one of the 32 teams is his favourite victim.

Brady said that it was a great question. Giants are the team I love to beat. Theyve taken away some really important things. To bring it back, I don't like losing to these guys so I love when they beat me.

It was the rascally New York Football Giants, we should have known. They did take two Super Bowls from Brady, the Pats. They thought so anyway. Super Bowl XLII was the first, with the Patriots having the opportunity to win their first 19-0 season. They will likely be remembered as the greatest ever team. Eli Manning and his Giants team had other plans. They beat New England 17-14 in one of the most thrilling low-scoring big matches ever.

Brady's comments about the Super Bowl are vividly recalled by me. They were in response to Plaxico Buress' prediction of a victory for the Giants at 23-17. Brady clearly felt good going into the game, having passed for 50 touchdowns and broken the single-season record. Brady and the Patriots would not say it publicly but they knew they had the game in their hands. You can see it in Brady's arrogance at the podium.

So, I get it. It's a great idea. It makes perfect sense. The Patriots made history by setting a new team record of 19-0, becoming the second undefeated team in NFL history. The Pats lost to the Giants. However, the 1972 Dolphins were the only team to win Super Bowl VII. They went 14-0 in regular season play and 3-0 in playoffs.

Four years later, Manning's team of the Giants defeated the Patriots in Super Bowl XLVI. The Patriots won the Super Bowl XLVI by 17 points, as Burress had predicted four years earlier. However, the Pats lost 21 to the Giants in the Super Bowl. We get it, Tom. It's a great pleasure to beat up on the Giants whenever you can. It doesn't matter if some of the key players are gone from those teams. The pain is a bit lessened by being able to beat up against the Giants franchise. Brady will have Week 11 on his calendar when he visits Tampa with the Giants.

Brady is not only the GOAT of the NFL, but also the king in NFL pettiness. Do you remember when Brady ran off without touching Nick Foles' hand after a game? Foles beat Brady in the Super Bowl. All hail King Petty.
