United Airlines will open a new Polaris Lounge in Washington Dulles (IAD).
United Airlines will open its Polaris Lounges once again after 19 months. These premium lounges are reserved for first-class travelers and international longhaul passengers.
The details are not yet available, but the lounge will be open in October at the IAD C Concourse. It will include:
Private dining room a la carte, hidden behind lattice pockets doors
Washington DC-inspired decor in the Library
The bar area features a unique coffered ceiling that adds DC style to its overall appearance.
The IAD Lounge will have a unique bar and dining menu. Popular items such as the Polaris Burger, however, will also be available.
There are 355 seats in the space, as well as 6 shower suites and 13 private bathrooms.
The lounge will be directly opposite United Club C17. It will be open from 5:05 a.m. to 10 p.m.
The lounge was almost complete by March 2020, but then the pandemic hit and it was closed for 19 months.
Live and Lets Fly reported in August that three Polaris Lounges will reopen in 2021 if travel continues to rebound. Washington Dulles will be the first lounge of this type, and two others are yet to be announced.
