Due to illness, Ben Davies and David Brooks will not be able to make it into the Wales squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Estonia and Czech Republic.

Tottenham's Davies is the next left-back to pull out, after Sheffield United's Rhys Norrington Davies.

Brooks, the Bournemouth attacking midfielder, would have been in contention for starting. Captain Gareth Bale was ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Luton Town centre back Tom Lockyer has also been injured.

After Norrington-Davies' and Lockyer’s withdrawals Wales had added Ben Cabango and Will Vaulks to their squad, but they haven’t called up replacements Davies and Brooks, whose ailments are not related with Covid-19.

Swansea City's defender Cabango was dropped from the original squad after he missed last month’s games due to Covid-19.

It is the first call-up for Cardiff City's midfielder Vaulks since Oct 2020.

After being left out of the Nations League games in November 2020, and having been overlooked for the first World Cup qualifiers, the 28-year old, who is Wales captain, acknowledged that he was unsure about his international future.

Vaulks, who is eligible for Wales through his mother's support, was not included in the Euro 2020 squad.

Wales will play the Czech Republic in Prague Friday, October 8th, and then another away qualifier against Estonia Monday, October 11th.

They are third in their qualifying group to the 2022 Qatar World Cup. This is equal on points with Czechs but nine points behind leaders Belgium.

Aaron Ramsey joined the current team despite missing two matches for Juventus due to "muscle fatigue".

Former Cardiff and Arsenal midfielder, was one of many who were removed from the squad last month for the friendly in Finland and qualifiers against Belarus.

Page stated that Ramsey would not be forced to resign again when he revealed his latest selection, but added that they would take extra care of Ramsey.

Wales will be without captain Bale. Bale has not played for Real Madrid Madrid since the last international window due to a serious injury to his hamstring.

For Friday's Prague game, the Czech Republic will not have Vladimir Coufal (West Ham defender) and three Slavia Prague players.

According to the Czech Football Association, Cougal, Jan Boril and Lukas Masopust have all been forced out of their teams for qualifying against Belarus and Wales due to health issues.

Jaroslav Silhavy added Tomas Wiesner and Milan Havel to his team. Jaromir Zmrhal, Jan Kopic, and Jaromir Zmrhal are also on the roster.
