Fara Williams holds record for most Lionesses caps
Fara Williams, a former England and Reading midfielder, has been inducted into the Women's Super League Hall of Fame.
Williams was a participant in all WSL seasons before she retired at the end her last campaign.
England's record holder for caps was last seen playing for Reading, but she also won two WSL titles while at Liverpool.
Kelly Simmons, chair of the WSL Hall of Fame panel, said that Fara was "delighted" to be inducted.
"She is one those players that can do something extraordinary when you least expect it. And because of that, as well as being an ever present in Barclays FA Women's Super League before her retirement, the panel unanimously inducted her.
"She was not only an amazing player, but she is also a remarkable person and is deserving of induction into the inaugural Barclays FA Women's Super League Hall of Fame. Fara, congratulations!
Williams also played for Arsenal and Everton. He had the fourth-highest assists (28) as well as the second most chances (266) in league play before this season.
She lost 5-0 to Chelsea in her last match. The 37-year old now works as a coach, pundit and coach.
Before Thursday lunchtime, three more players will be inducted to the Hall of Fame.
