MIAMI -- A league source confirmed that the Dolphins have reached an agreement to trade Jakeem Grant, wide receiver, to the Chicago Bears.
NFL Network reported the first news about the information and the compensation for the 2023 sixth-round selection.
Grant is the Dolphins' primary returning player since 2016, when they drafted him sixth in the sixth round. He has five return touchdowns and ranks 11th among active NFL players for non-offensive touchdowns. After signing a four-year extension worth $19.7 million in 2019, Grant was named second-team All-Pro.
Grant has 2,206 kick return yards and 978 punt return yards for his career.
He's had a slow start to this season. However, he managed to make a couple of punts during Miami's loss against the Colts in Week 4, and then fumbled deep in the red zone during the team's loss at the Bills in week 2.
Jaylen Waddle will likely be the Dolphins' primary returning player. He was Grant's punt returner when Grant was hurt in Week 2.
