It may not be enough just to take a photo of a distant world to determine what kind of planet it might be. This is because every other planet, except Jupiter, could be mistakenly thought to be Earth from outside the solar system.
Exoplanets are planets that exist outside our solar system. We can take an image of these exoplanets and get only two pieces of information: their apparent brightness and the planets.
