Google will give you free Stadia hardware if you buy a game

Google will give away a free Stadia Premiere Edition Kit if you buy a regular Stadia Game. To qualify, you will need to purchase a full-price game ($59.99 and above) in order to receive the hardware bundle. Google's free offer will last until 11:59 PM PT on October 10, and codes will be available by October 20th.
You can get the free Stadia Premier Edition offer in the USA, UK, Ireland and Netherlands. Google sells the Stadia Premiere Edition usually for $79.99.

Over the past year, Google has given away free Stadia hardware

Google isn't the only company to give away free Stadia hardware. YouTube Premium subscribers started receiving Stadia Premiere Edition kits in November. Google gave away Stadia Premiere edition kits to those who purchased Cyberpunk 2077 via Stadia during the November launch period. This same bundle was also available with Resident Evil Village purchases.

Google claims it is still committed to Stadia. However, it is not clear how long the service will survive in its current form. Google made the decision earlier this year to stop being a game company and to not build its own games. This has led to several high-profile departures in 2021. Last month, Google's director of games left for a job with the cloud team. Google has now defined Stadia as a technology platform that is available to industry partners. This could lead to the eventual transformation of the service into a white-label, cloud gaming service.

Despite Google's Stadia woes, the service has seen significant improvements this year. Google recently reduced its revenue share for developers and added a touchscreen control option. It also launched Stadia with Google TV.
