Critics have gathered around former Vice President Mike Pences' claim that media continued to report on Jan. 6 insurrection with the intent of demeaning former President Donald Trump supporters.
Pence suggested that news outlets' continued focus on the deadly U.S. Capitol Riot by a mob led by Trump supporters was purely an attempt to distract attention from the failed agenda of the Biden administration.
Pence claimed that they want to use this one day to denigrate the character and intentions 74 million Americans who believed in our ability to be strong again, prosperous again, and who supported our administration in 2016-2020.
Pence was reminded via Twitter of the danger that he faced during the violence when Trump supporters demanded he be hung, as the former president slammed him publicly because he failed to overturn 2020's election result.
